John Gaylen, from Mount Airy, North Carolina, joined the IJGA coaching team in 2022 as a Senior Instructor. John brings over 25 years of coaching experience, working with everyone from beginners to professionals. Before joining the team, John became a PGA member, competing in the Hooters and Tear Drop tours for 13 years. Additionally, John has a TPI Level I certification and is Positive Coach Alliance certified. After his years of competing, John coached Division 2 men’s golf at Queens University and was awarded the 2020 US KIDS Top 50 teacher in the U.S. When he’s not coaching, John enjoys fishing, bowling, hiking, and of course, golfing.
What’s your greatest asset/area of expertise?
Bringing expert instructional knowledge and knowing how to apply it to coaching.
What’s your favorite part of working at IJGA?
Seeing the kids improve and their love of the game. I also very much enjoy the team and my coworkers.
