Originally from Asuncion, Paraguay, Giovanna Fernandez brings her experience as both a high-level athlete and a student of psychology to her role as IJGA’s mental performance coach. A full-time IJGA student in 2020–2021, she trained in a highly competitive environment, prepared for collegiate golf, and achieved a career-best World Amateur Golf Ranking of No. 79.
From 2021 to 2025, Giovanna competed on the University of Arkansas Women’s Golf Team, which held the No. 1 NCAA Division I ranking for an extended period. While balancing athletics with academics, she earned her degree in Psychology and completed multiple Sport Psychology courses, combining her competitive background with a strong foundation in mental performance.
Throughout her career, Giovanna collected international wins and gained invaluable experience competing against the world’s best players. These experiences shaped her belief that the difference between good and great lies in mindset. As a coach, she is passionate about guiding junior golfers through the challenges of competition, helping them develop resilience, confidence, and a personal recipe for success.
Now at IJGA, Giovanna is committed to helping athletes discover the best version of themselves both on and off the course, providing the support, guidance, and mental tools they need to thrive in golf and in life.
