John Gaylen, from Mount Airy, North Carolina, graduated from Gardner Webb University with a B.S in Physical Education and Sports Medicine. During his time at Gardner Webb John played on the Gardner Webb Football team as a Defensive Back. After graduating from Gardner Webb John commenced his PGA of America training program at Myers Park in North Carolina. John graduated from the PGA of America in 2000 as a class A member of the PGA. Additionally, in 2008 John completed his certification in Coaching and Teaching from the PGA of America. He turned Pro during the PGA of America 2000. After starting his professional career at Myers Park John at the same time competed on various Mini Tours over a 7 year period. During his time at Myers Park John held the position of Junior Golf Director and Lead Instructor. John was recruited to become the Assistant Director of the PGM program at Queens University in Charlotte where he spent 7 years in that position as well as 2 years as the Head Men’s and Women’s Golf Coach. After his time at Myers Park and Queen’s University John has served at the Head Professional and Director of Instruction at Various famed country clubs in North Carolina Including Hasentree County Club. John has worked with thousands of Juniors and Amateurs over his career along with players from the LPGA and PGA Tour. John enjoys the team coaching aspect of the International Junior Golf Academy along with the opportunity to work with and guide young players in their journey.
