Essential Items to Bring to IJGA Junior Golf Summer Camp

Junior golf summer camp at IJGA is exciting. You get to spend a week or two playing your favorite sport at a beautiful location. You also get to meet new people and make new friends. Enjoy camp to the fullest by preparing everything you need before you arrive at our gorgeous lakeside facility. In today’s blog from IJGA, we discuss essential items to bring to our junior golf summer camp.

Sunscreen

It takes just 15 minutes to get a sunburn, and that’s definitely true here in Florida in the summer. You should apply sunscreen with an SPF of between 30 and 50 to block 97% of the sun’s harmful rays. You’ll be getting plenty of sun, at least four hours’ worth per day, at our junior golf summer camp.

Brimmed Hat

Bring a comfortable, brimmed hat with you to keep the sun’s rays off of your face, eyes, and nose. IJGA’s junior golf summer camp encourages you to bring your favorite hat, or wear one of ours!

Insect Repellent

Insect repellent is a must, especially if you spend time outdoors at night. You might walk around our facility or take some extra swings on the driving range after dark. That’s when the mosquitoes come out, so be sure to bring insect repellent to your junior golf summer camp.

Athletic Tape

You might have to bandage your wrist, hand, arm, leg, knee, or calf when you’re out on the golf course. Perhaps you developed a blister or you have a nagging soreness in an elbow or ankle joint. Athletic tape can be used as a precautionary measure, or your doctor may prescribe that you wear it as you heal from an injury. Make sure to bring some if you need it for junior golf camp.

Windbreaker

Florida is known for its afternoon thunderstorms, and we may very well see some during junior golf summer camp. We suggest a windbreaker, rather than an umbrella, to keep the rain off of you. This is for safety reasons due to potential lightning strikes during thunderstorms.

Water Bottle

Carry a water bottle with you to stay hydrated. Even though golf isn’t a high-impact sport like football, soccer, basketball, or tennis, you can still get dehydrated in the summer heat. We recommend taking a sip of water every 15 minutes to maintain consistent hydration while you’re on the course at junior golf summer camp.

Golf Clubs

It’s not a golf camp without your golf clubs! With all of your planning and preparation, don’t forget to bring your golf clubs, golf balls, tees, and golf bag to junior golf summer camp.
