IJGA alumni Filip Jakubcik, representing Europe, and Jack Turner, representing the USA, played in the prestigious Palmer Cup in the first week of June 2025 at the private Congaree Golf Club in South Carolina. A few days later, the WAGR results showed Filip had risen to 9th and Jack to 12th, affirming their success in the highest echelon of amateur golf. Filip Jakubcik: A Rising European Star From IJGA
Filip Jakubcik joined IJGA in Fall 2020, already ranked in the top 200. He maintained a similar ranking when he left for college two years later. His first major win came in August 2023 when he triumphed in the Czech International Championship in his home country.
Filip’s recent achievements include back-to-back victories at the 77th and 78th Western Intercollegiate, played at Pasatiempo Golf Club in California. He’s more than earned his place among the best in the WAGR.
Jack Turner: Top-Ranked Player at the University of Florida
Jack, a five-year student at IJGA, earned his WAGR entry by playing a 54-hole IJGT in May 2020 at Bishops Gate Golf Course. He started at 5394 and climbed into the top 1,000 as a dominant player in IJGT events at Bishops Gate while at IJGA.
After two years at the University of Florida, Jack elevated his game and finished his sophomore year as the top-ranked player in the class of 2027.
