Joshua Hess has emerged as a formidable force in junior golf, showcasing his exceptional skills and consistency throughout the year.

From team victories to individual triumphs, Hess has demonstrated his prowess on both national and international stages, solidifying his position as a rising star in the sport. Join IJGA to discover more about his incredible season.

Winning Streak for Both Team and Individual Golf Competitions

Hess’s winning streak began with a remarkable team performance at the inaugural Independent International Invitational. As a key member of the Montverde Academy team, he contributed to their victory in this prestigious event.

However, Hess didn’t stop at team success. He also claimed the individual title, highlighting his ability to excel both as a team player and as an individual competitor.

International Golf Triumph in Mexico

Prior to his success at the Independent International Invitational, Hess had already made waves on the international circuit. He secured a victory at the Copa Surreste, a premier event organized by the Federation of Mexico Golf. This win demonstrated his ability to compete at a high level in different countries and conditions.

Joshua Hess Enjoys Summer of Success

The summer proved to be a golden period for Hess, as he continued to add titles to his growing collection:

  1. Swiss Junior Event: Hess crossed the Atlantic to compete in France, where he emerged victorious in a Swiss Junior event.
  2. IJGT Elite Series: Returning to familiar territory, he clinched the title at Bishops Gate, Florida.
  3. Optimist National Championship: Hess’s winning ways continued at Mission Inn, Florida, where he secured another prestigious title.
  4. Notah Begay Championship: His summer success culminated with a victory at Koasati Pines, Louisiana.

A Near Miss and Ranking Boost

While Hess’s year was filled with victories, his performance at the Junior Orange Bowl in Coral Gables, Florida, proved to be a nail-biter. In what was arguably his most significant event of the year, Hess narrowly missed out on the title, finishing second by just one shot. Despite the close call, this performance had a substantial impact on his World Amateur Golf Ranking.

Remarkable WAGR Improvement for Joshua Hess

Hess’s consistent performances and string of victories led to a dramatic improvement in his WAGR. From a ranking of 2026 when he arrived in the USA, Hess skyrocketed to the 785th position.

This remarkable leap of over 1200 places in the rankings is a testament to his hard work, skill development, and ability to perform under pressure in high-level competitions. These qualities are integral to our Training Philosophy at IJGA.

Joshua Hess’s journey throughout the year serves as an inspiration to young golfers worldwide. His ability to compete and win across different countries and tournaments demonstrates not only his golfing skills but also his mental fortitude and adaptability.
