Golf boarding school is in full swing. You’re getting into a routine, training to improve your game, and getting to know your instructors. Today’s blog from IJGA discusses 10 essential items to bring to our golf boarding school.
1. Comfortable Hat
Bring a comfortable hat that covers your face for sun protection. If you have a wide-brimmed hat, that’s ideal for daily use. A baseball-style cap with a brim towards the front also works well when you’re out on the course.
2. Sunglasses
The sunlight gets intense in Central Florida, even during the winter months. Polarized sunglasses reduce glare while protecting your eyes from horizontal light rays that can cause headaches. No one wants to deal with headaches at golf boarding school.
3. Sunscreen
Florida is warm year-round, although it may get cool every once in a while. Sunscreen is vital whenever you’re outside for an extended period of time.
4. Insect Repellent
Bishops Gate is near large bodies of water. Water is the perfect breeding ground for bugs, including mosquitoes. Bring insect repellent to keep mosquitoes from biting you as you play your rounds at our golf boarding school. Bugs can get annoying at times, especially when the weather is hot.
5. Athletic Tape & Bandages
If you have an injury, your doctor will tell you how to wear athletic tape or bandages. However, these items are also suitable for preventing blisters and awkward movements. Kinesio tape is popular with athletes. Golfers can use this tape to keep their joints stable while on the course at golf boarding school.
6. Your Medications, If Any
If you have any prescription medications, make sure to bring them with you to golf boarding school. You may require a refill on your prescription while you’re at Bishops Gate, in which case we can help you get it filled.
7. Rainwear & Umbrella
Florida can be rainy and wet almost any time of year. Bring comfortable rainwear for outdoor days when it rains. An umbrella helps keep you dry as you head back to the clubhouse.
8. Golf Shoes
Comfortable golf shoes are a must on the course. They help keep your footing on any terrain and in any course conditions as you make sure your swing is consistent.
9. Golf Clubs
You probably have a set of golf clubs made for your height and stance. Bring your A-game, your best set of clubs, and your golf bag so you can learn how to play golf correctly.
10. A Fun, Winning Attitude
Our golf boarding school is a learning experience, but we also want you to have fun as you train to become a winner who has the drive to succeed. We want to channel your passion for golf into a college scholarship and a possible post-college career!
