Each year, standout performances in International Junior Golf Tour (IJGT) events earn two groups of IJGA students a trip to Scotland.
To motivate developing players, the IJGT uses a Net scoring system, awarding 500 points to the winner and 50 points to the tenth-place finisher.
A Trip Earned Through Performance
Over the calendar year, IJGA participants who earn the most points receive a free trip to East Lothian, Scotland, just outside Edinburgh.
They play the Renaissance course (home to the Scottish Open), the two Archerfield courses, and the three Gullane courses.
The trip also includes a visit to the home of golf, St Andrews, where students walk the final holes of the famous Old Course.
Growth Through Competition
In May 2025, six IJGA students from Mexico formed the second group, gaining motivation and valuable experience while playing a new style of Scottish links golf.
Four of these students performed at the recent Federation of Mexican Golf event in Veracruz, held November 21–23.
In the girls’ division, Isabela Kuri placed second, Maria Paula placed third, and Romina Palmeros placed fifth in the 19U division.
A Breakthrough Victory
The top performance belonged to 10th-grader Juan Aliseda, who won the 19U division and secured a World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR).
In Scotland, the girls called him “the real deal,” and last Sunday he backed it up. Congratulations to everyone involved, with special recognition to Juan for an impressive victory!
Building Momentum at IJGA
These results reflect the progress our students make when they compete, travel, and challenge themselves in new environments.
We’re proud of their achievements and excited to support their continued development both on and off the course.
