Arizona Wildcats Reach National Semifinals
Filip’s strong play also helped Arizona make program history. The Wildcats advanced to the NCAA Match Play Championship for the first time in a couple of decades and continued their postseason run all the way to the national semifinals, beating a strong Vanderbilt in the quarterfinals. However, they ran out of steam in the semifinals, losing to UCLA, with Filip the only point earned for his team.

The NCAA Championship field also featured several other former IJGA student-athletes. Jack Turner led the University of Florida Gators into the quarterfinals, finishing tied for 14th at 6-under par. Fellow alumni Gerardo Gomez and John Daly II also earned spots in the national championship finals, representing Arkansas.
