IJGA Student Maria Pau Navarrete Soars in February
February 2026 marked a breakthrough month for IJGA student Maria Pau Navarrete, highlighted by a tournament victory and a dramatic rise in the World Amateur Golf Ranking.

Victory at the Isabella Fierro Cup
On February 2, Pau captured the Isabella Fierro Cup in Yucatan, earning her first entry into the WAGR rankings at 4640. The victory immediately elevated her to No. 2 among girls in Mexico and secured her selection to represent Mexico at the Western States Three Nations Players Cup in California.
Representing Mexico on the International Stage
Pau continued her strong form in California, helping the Mexican team claim victory over the United States and Canada. Competing on an international stage and contributing to a team championship reflects the steady progress she has made through discipline and focused training. Congratulations on a well-deserved achievement!
A Meteoric Rise in WAGR
By the end of February, Pau had climbed from 4640 to 2970 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, a remarkable jump in just a few weeks. This rapid progression highlights the impact of consistent effort and competitive performance at the highest levels of junior golf. And on the last day of the month she got invited to join the Mexican team to play in the 2026 Toyota Junior Golf World Cup to be held in Japan from June 23 to 26.
