Although IJGA has welcomed many national and college teams to our Bishops Gate facility, it was an honor to welcome the St Andrews University golf team for a few days. Not only is the team from the “home of golf,” but also the CEO of IJGA, Andrew Summers, went to St Andrews and was pleased to offer hospitality to the students.
A Friendly Match: IJGA vs. St Andrews University
However, the hospitality didn’t extend to the match between their five boys and three girls and the IJGA team. Led by Tingwei Chang, who notably won Faldo US and Faldo Europe and is going to the University of Oregon, they prevailed over the St Andrews team 17 to 15.
The youngest member of the IJGA team, sophomore Ayana Hiranaka, beat the recent Scottish Women’s Amateur winner to secure the victory.
A Day of Fun and Competition
Everyone had fun on a perfect day with the Bishop’s Gate course in great condition. These are memories of a lifetime. Thank you to Tingwei, Takato Imoto, Gerardo Gomez, Sebastian Gamboa, Victoria Renzi, Zoravar Singh Star, Hibiki Adachi, and Ayana for representing IJGA so well.
