We are excited to welcome Craig Callens, PGA, to the IJGA family! Craig, along with his wife Nana and their sons Ben and Oliver, recently made the move from Richmond, VA, to join us as one of our Directors of Golf. With over 20 years of experience as a golf professional and 11 years as a proud PGA member, Craig brings a wealth of knowledge, skill, and passion to our academy.
Craig’s Golf Journey
Craig’s golf journey began at the tender age of 5, and by 10, he was already competing in tournaments. His passion for the game carried him through high school in Eureka, CA, and into college at Sacramento State University. At 21, Craig turned pro, competing on the Great Goose Gateway Tour before dedicating his career to instruction and golf operations.
Over his 17-year career with the PGA, Craig has had the privilege of working at some of the most prestigious golf clubs in the country. His impressive resume includes stints at Card Sound Golf Club in Ocean Reef, FL, 3-Creek Ranch in Jackson Hole, WY, Carolina Country Club in Raleigh, NC, and most recently, The Country Club of Virginia and Hermitage C.C. in Richmond, VA, where he served as Head Professional and Director of Golf.
Passion for Instruction
Craig’s true passion is instruction. He has delivered over 5,000 lessons and spent three years as the Head Golf Coach at Shepherd University. His dedication to coaching has guided dozens of juniors to success in college and professional golf.
We are thrilled to have Craig on board and are confident that his expertise and enthusiasm will make a lasting impact on our academy. Welcome to the team, Craig!
