In the first Independent International Invitational held at Fox-Crum, Massachusetts, Montverde Academy dominated. Known principally for its Basketball, Soccer, Tennis, Baseball successes, students from the IJGA, who attend Montverde Academy, placed Montverde at the top of the independent schools with a golf program. Fielding three teams, Montverde Academy placed first with their boys team and second with their girls team, well ahead of other notable schools such as Deerfield, Philips Exeter, Philips Andover, Lawrenceville, Tafts, Chinese school EliteK12 and British schools Salisbury and Wellington. Joshua Hess from Switzerland won the Boys individual and Zurich Kanokpornvasin won the Girls individual, with Ryo Murato, Grace Xu and Cynthia Yang all in the top three of the Boys and Girls competitions.
