We are thrilled to share the success of our alumni as they continue to shine in college. Filip Jakubcik’s dedication and hard work on the golf course translate into impressive achievements in the classroom and beyond.
In 2018, Filip came to IJGA from Holesov, Czech Republic, and graduated in May 2022.
Filip, now a sophomore at the University of Arizona, is making some serious waves in the game of golf. He plays for the Arizona Wild Cats and recently was one of two from his team selected to participate in the 2023 WATC ABU DHABI, UAE.
From October 18th to 21st, Filip competed for the Eisenhower Trophy at the Abu Dhabi Golf Club. There, he placed 8th, scoring R1:69, R2:67, R3:70, and R4:71, achieving a total score of 277.
“Filip Jakubcik posted two top-10 finishes and a top-20 finish in the fall. The Czech golfer finished in third place at the Sahalee Players Championship for the best finish of his young collegiate career.” Said an Arizona Wildcats article, “he posted Arizona’s lowest score in each of the team’s first three tournaments of the season.”

Filip has made some outstanding achievements as a golf amateur. He has improved his ranking on the World Amateur Golf Ranking to 77, allowing him to be one of the top golf amateurs in the world. Out of his 29 events, he has finished in the top 10 nine times and won three.
