An old rivalry was displayed in the recent Altron Vusi Ngubeni Sunshine Tour event, which finished on April 21st, 2023. Robin “Tiger” Williams and Tristan Galant, both incredibly talented juniors from South Africa, have been best friends and competitors for over ten years, and both attended our golf academies in their early teens.
After a modest start, 1 under after two rounds, Tristan burst through in round 3 with an eagle and 6 birdies to lead at 9 under. Robin was now 4 shots back at 5 under after two successive level-par rounds. But, perhaps with this rivalry of old, Robin put together 8 birdies in his final round in a three under 69 to end as joint leader and then prevailed in the play-off to win.
