We’ve welcomed a third group of IJGA athletes to Race to Scotland 2023! The third group comprised Ana Maria, Maria, Isabela, Vicky, Hernan, and Leo.
The third group visited with other IJGA athletes, as they briefly overlapped during the changeover Monday. Still, group three enjoyed some time to rest and shop before preparing for their first day of golf.
The group started with the usual Archerfield Fidra on a lovely day; they followed up with their walk up the Law in bright blue skies.
Wednesday was the mighty Renaissance, host to the Scottish Open and already showing its defenses with undulating greens and thick rough.
Thursday was Gullane #1 and #2, challenging with a cold wind, and then again on Friday but in delightful, sunny weather. Ana Maria and Maria teamed up with the superstars of Scottish junior golf, Ollie and Sam Mukherjee, in a close match won by Ollie and Maria on the 17th hole.
Saturday was our visit to St Andrews, which is always very special, leading up to the final round at Archerfield Dirleton. Vicky continued her consistent form to win the challenge matches.
