The real successes of any golf academy are the students who arrive as moderate golfers and become good golfers. Two 9th grade Freshmen students all showed remarkable progress over this Spring semester with excellent performances in the most recent IJGT Spring Series #5 event:
Tsukasa Katsuki: After rarely breaking 80 during the Fall semester and playing in the high 70s in the early part of the Spring, Tsukasa scored rounds of 2 under and level par (with OB on the last hole) in this IJGT event, an aggregate of 2 under, to become a real contender for future events.
Soichi Shinkawa: With only one round under 80 (a 79) in the Fall semester, then a couple of rounds in the high 70s in the early part of the Spring, Soichi broke through with a devastating start to this IJGT event with a string of 5 birdies, to lead after round 1 with three under par and follow it up with a 2 over par round, marred by a double bogey in the closing holes, for a 1 under aggregate.
