3 IJGA students qualified for the Europe Final of the Faldo Series at the Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting & Golf Club in Abu Dhabi in November 2022. Ting-Wei “Tim” Chang was one of the three who played, and he finished the weekend as a Champion. Tim, a high school junior age 16 at the time, entered a very strong amateur field with much older and experienced players but that did not stop him. He had an opening round of 6 under 64, and then backed it up with another 64 and a final day round of 69, 197 total!

Tim Chang had a one-shot lead over Jamie Mann of Scotland as they stood on #18, a par-5. Jamie parred the hole and Tim made birdie to give him the victory by 2 shots. The victory qualified him for the Asia Faldo Final in Vietnam this April. Our other students who went, Aaron Lin of Taiwan and One Kashima of Japan also played very good golf. Lin had scores of 69- 63- 70 (202) 8 under par and finished in 4th place and One finished 2nd in the female division (16th overall) with a total of 2 under par 208.
