In 2013, John McCabe joined the IJGA for the year as a post-graduate (PG) student. Using the PG year to continue to grow his golf game while also preparing for this future, John was a pivotal member of the IJGA community. Guaranteed to put a smile on anyone’s face, students, coaches and staff alike could always count on John to brighten each day.

John played in 16 IJGT events as a PG, six of which were top-10 finishes. He accumulated an impressive 42 birdies on the season and played a total of 594 holes. After he received an ovation from friends, coaches and spectators at The Orlando Junior at Falcon’s Fire, his final event, John’s next stop was Pittsburgh, his hometown.

In Pittsburgh, John began post-graduate education at the Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC), kicking off his college career with an A in Introduction to Nutrition. When John isn’t studying hard, he continues his commitment to his golf game. He now plays as part of the CCAC Men’s Golf Team and took part in his first collegiate match on Friday, August 29, 2014.
