Six-time major champion, number one in the world for 98 weeks and CBS Sports announcer Sir Nick Faldo, spent his Monday morning following the RBC Heritage tournament giving a golf demonstration clinic to IJGA student-athletes at Wexford Golf Club’s driving range on Hilton Head Island, SC. IJGA Director of Golf Jonathan Yarwood provided a set of 1980’s clubs to Faldo including a Persimmon Driver, the same type of clubs Faldo played with when he was ranked #1 in the world. Yarwood measured the clubhead speed and distance of Faldo’s shots with TrackMan, comparing the top equipment from the ‘80’s to today’s clubs.
Faldo is a three-time Masters Champion, three-time British Open champion, RBC Heritage champion and received knighthood from Queen Elizabeth II in 2009 for his lifetime contributionto the game of golf.
