The International Junior Golf Academy is pleased to announce the addition of John Jordan to its coaching staff. Jordan’s career path illustrates his alignment with IJGA’s mission statement “to have a positive and transformational impact on young people’s lives.”
Jordan’s passion for golf started at a young age. As a teenager, he was mentored by Masters and British Open runner-up Johnny Bulla, who inspired his love for both the history of the game and golf instruction.
Jordan spent the early part of his career assisting David Leadbetter as he worked with PGA Tour stars Nick Price and Greg Norman. He then accepted a position as the Director of Golf Instruction at the prestigious Lagunita Country Club in Caracas, Venezuela. At Lagunita, as a member of the PGA of Venezuela, Jordan worked with many top-ranked juniors as well as professionals from Latin America who have competed on the LPGA Tour and the PGA Tour Latinoamerica.
In 2005, Jordan founded the Edugolf Foundation, a practice facility and learning center for economically disadvantaged youth in Venezuela. Edugolf’s after school program provided academic tutoring, English classes, meals, exercise programs and golf lessons for its students. Through his work with Edugolf, Jordan and his students were featured on Golf Channel, ESPN and CNN International. To watch the Golf Channel video on Edugolf, click here.
Jordan has a wealth of experience working with juniors of all skill levels from a wide range of backgrounds. The IJGA is thrilled to welcome a talented coach with a passion for social justice.
“John Jordan brings with him a vast knowledge of player development,” said IJGA CEO Ryley Hendry. “We are very excited for him to join Stuart Morgan and the IJGA instruction team.”
“I’m looking forward to meeting the kids,” Jordan said. “I’m very excited to help with the long-term development of the dedicated students at IJGA and to learn about the variety of cultures represented.”
