IJGA Student Wins IJGT Central Florida Classic at Lake Buena Vista
October 8th : IJGA student Chase Phillips won the boys division of the IJGT Central Florida Classic at Lake Buena Vista. Phillips posted a 36 hole total of even par 144 to lock up his three stroke victory. Phillips bounced back on his second round to post a very impressive 2 under par 70 and secure his victory.
Phillips is in his fourth year here at IJGA and one of the few locals growing up here on Hilton Head Island. Phillips is no stranger to success on the IJGT winning multiple times in the different age groups. “Chase has been a long time and popular student at IJGA. He has come a long way, especially this semester. He’s rebuilt his whole game into a robust package which is becoming college ready. He has learnt how to cross the line with this win, which is a skill in itself. He held his nerve well, using his mental training to follow the processes which lead to two excellent scores and the win.” Jonathan Yarwood, IJGA Director of Golf.
Phillips shot his IJGT career low tournament round of 2 under 70 the final day of the tournament. We look forward to seeing Phillips continue this impressive play as the year rolls on.”
