IJGA students, Sophie Guo of Hangzhou City, China, and Warissara Puangcharoen of Chonburi, Thailand, earned medalist honors at the AJGA Qualifier at Barefoot Resort in North Myrtle Beach, S.C. on August 3, 2014. Both Guo and Puangcharoen finished with scores of 4-over-par 75.
The qualifier, which was originally slated to start 8:30 a.m., was delayed for over six hours due to thunderstorms in the area. Both students were able to handle not only the physical demands of the delay, but more importantly, the mental demands and still achieve optimal performance.
