Hugh Royer III

Senior Golf Coach

Hugh Royer from Columbus, Georgia, brings collegiate, professional, and instructional experience to the IJGA team. Hugh played golf as a student-athlete at both Mississippi State University and Columbus State University and was a First Team All-American athlete. Following college, he was inducted into the Columbus State University Sports Hall of Fame and the Chattahoochee Valley Sports Hall of Fame. From 1995 to 1998, Hugh competed in the PGA Tour as well as the Nationwide Tour from 1999 to 2000. After playing professionally, he worked as an Instructor at the IJGA Hilton Head Campus. When he isn’t on the golf course, Hugh is spending time with his family, fishing, and hunting.  What’s your greatest asset/area of expertise?  My experience as a player and insights as a student of the competitive game. My teaching methodology is simple and effective, focusing on basic fundamentals. What’s your favorite part of working at IJGA?  Being able to teach the kids and give them the knowledge and experience that he gained from playing on the PGA TOUR.
