IJGA summer campers and full-time students representing seven countries traveled to Charleston, S.C., on July 27-29, 2015, to compete in the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour‘s Daniel Island Junior Shootout. Members of the IJGA contingent swept the Girls Division with Yeji Ahn of Changwon-City, South Korea, taking the title and “Ammy” Suthisa Uenghiranpaisan of Bangkok, Thailand, and “Angela” Wint Phoo Nadi Aung of Myanmar tying for second.
After the first round, Ahn shared the lead in the Girls Division with Uenghiranpaisan. Ahn knocked three strokes off her round one 78 to record a 3-over 75 in round two and maintain her lead. She finished four strokes ahead of the competition with a 153 tournament total. Her four birdies were the most in the Girls Division.
Aung and Uenghiranpaisan finished with 157 tournament totals to tie for second. Aung’s second-day 75 tied Ahn for the lowest round in the Girls Division.
Yuxuan “Adam” Zou of Shenzen, China, finished second in the Boys 13-14 Division, just two strokes off the lead, with a 154 tournament total.
In the Boys 15-18 Division, Saptak Talwar of New Delhi, India, carded a 1-over 73 in the second round to finish with a 155 two-day total, landing him in a tie with fellow IJGA golfer “James” Zin Aung Min of Myanmar.
