Sophmore Go competes in Scott Robertson Invitational

IJGA student Shiso Go of Kanagawa, Japan, had a strong outing this weekend at the 32nd annual Scott Robertson Invitational in Rocky Mount, Va. The invitational, held annually at the par-71 Roanoke Country Club, took place this year May 15-17, 2015.

Go, who has won three tournaments this season faced students from all over North America in the 54-hole event. He shot 1-over in the first round. His best stretch that round was the nine holes he played on the Dogwood Course. He came in at 1-under on those nine holes including a birdie on the par-3 hole No. 7.

The second round was Go’s best of the weekend when he shot a 1-under 70. This included another 1-under on the Dogwood Course and an even par 35 on the Redbud Course. He carded at least one birdie on each course.

In the third round, Go ended with another 1-over 72 but improved to shoot his best nine hole total of the tournament. Naturally it came on Dogwood, and he made the turn with a 2-under 34. He started and finished that nine hole stretch with birdies adding another in the middle.

After three rounds, Go’s tournament total was a 1-over 214. This was good enough to tie the sophomore for 15th place.

Congratulations to Shiso on his performance!
