IJGA alumnus, Pablo Larrazabal, had a spectacular weekend on the European Tour at the Volvo World Match Play Championship. Larrazabal made it all the way to the quarterfinals of the tournament before falling to Joost Luiten, who was 8-under-par through 13 holes. Along the way to the quarterfinals, Larrazabal beat Ryder-Cupper Stephen Gallacher 1-up, and Shane Lowry 2&1.
With his finish, Larrazabal is 22nd in the European Tour’s Race to Dubai standings, and is currently ranked 69 in the Official World Golf Rankings.
In NCAA play, Laura Restrepo, a 2012 IJGA graduate who plays for the University of Louisville, finished in a tie for eighth place at the Mercedes-Benz Intercollegiate. Restrepo finished with scores of 71-75-74 and helped the Cardinals to a fourth-place finish.
Phyllis Tang, a 2014 IJGA graduate, returned to the familiar South at the JU Classic at Marsh Landing Country Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. She pieced together a great tournament for Boston University finishing in a tie for 2oth place after firing rounds of 74-76-77. Tang competed for Boston University in all of their fall events as a true freshmen.
Former IJGA student, Nicole Autrique, who plays at the University of South Florida finished in a tie for 20th place at theOld Waverly Bulldog Invitational. She helped lead the Bulls to a second-place tournament finish.
