Mary was born and raised in northern-lower Michigan and lived a few years in California afterwards.

Mary originally opened her own day care with 10-12 children in attendance ranging from ages six weeks to 14 years old. After her son began school, she served as a math and reading teacher for elementary school students. Mary was also a youth leader for 10 years at her church.
Hobbies:
Mary has a passion for anything “artsy”. She enjoys photography, scrapbooking, knitting, crocheting, and occasionally sketching. She also enjoys anything involving nature and the outdoors.
Best academic subjects:
The IJGA students come to Mary for help most often with their math and reading assignments.
Favorite meal to cook:
Mary loves to cook both a full-blown Thanksgiving style dinners (including turkey, mashed potatoes, yams, deviled eggs, and pumpkin pie) as well as an old-fashioned pot roast.

Mary is best known for her cooking!

Mary has many awards for her cooking and baking. She was her county’s “Homemaker” winner four years in a row and Michigan’s “Homemaker of the Year” in 2006. She has a 26-year-old son, Josh, who is a full time winemaker and fireman. Her motto for life is “Give respect, Get respect”.
